Stéphane Requena is Chief Technical Officer at GENCI (French HPC agency) and former member of the PRACE Board of Directors. Before joining GENCI in 2007, he has been during 10 years in charge of the HPC facilities at
Institut Français du Pétrole and involved into optimisation and parallelisation of oil & gas (geology, seismic, reservoir modelling) and automotive applications. Previously he worked in CS a French service company in parallelising applications in the field of energy for EDF and CEA.
At GENCI, he is in charge of the development of innovative services and of the technical aspects of GENCI’ large procurements for HPC/AI/Quantum and storage facilities. He is/has been involved in several European projects
including Mont-Blanc (low power processors using ARM architecture), EPI (European Processor Initiative) and EESI (European Exascale Software Initiative) / EXDCI (European eXtreme Data and Computing Initiative) series in relation to the scientific and industrial applications roadmaps.
