Biography
Yuichiro Anzai was graduated from Keio University in Tokyo, and received a Ph.D. in engineering from Keio in 1974. He changed his field immediately after that to cognitive and computer sciences, and started his research career as a post-doc and then a visiting assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Anzai has been working for those contemporary fields for more than forty years since then, particularly for human and machine learning, and human-robot-computer interaction. Presently he is engaged in giving advice, as the chair of the Council for Artificial Intelligence Strategy, to the Japanese government for planning strategic policies associated with AI technology, including policies for education, R&D, social practices, and data infrastructure, related to AI.
