Since 2018, Martine Garnier-Rizet is Head of the Digital sciences and Mathematics department at the French National Research Agency (ANR), after having been scientific advisor for the "Content and interaction" program. In March 2008, while keeping part of her activities in the industrial field, she joined the French-German Institute for Multilingual & Multimedia Information (IMMI-CNRS) where she was involved in the Quaero program coordination in particular. Before coming back to the research sector, she spent 16 years at the Speech Processing R&D department at VECSYS (Bertin Technologies). After defending her PhD thesis on Speech Synthesis at LIMSI-CNRS, she spent a post-doctoral year at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH), followed by a year as research engineer at Telia Research (Swedish Telecommunications).
